Coming from the East or Highway 7 South (Airport) take the first left after the bridge onto Opal Street.

Coming from the West or North pass through the center of town and take the first right after the Railway Station onto Opal Street.

With a population of approximately 13,000 Emerald is a large outback country town on the Nogoa River, near the junction of the Capricorn and Gregory Highways.
